I like the long-assed hoods on the cars then. I remember Packard ads in the Saturday Evening Post where they used their trademark line, “Ask the man who owns one.”

Looking at the guy driving it, he could have bought this one new. Also, you might expect to see his bumper sticker “My Other Car is a Harley Davidson.”

The car was an absolute beauty, though.

Wow, what a sweetheart car! ‘47 - right after the War ended they started up production, I guess. And then things (style) started to rapidly change.

My dad had one of those! His was a blue and white two-tone. People constantly asked him if the back end came off the ground at high-speed. I remember going on a long cross-country trip one year for our summer vacation. I think we went to New York to see my Mom’s brother who was a retired horse trainer for Ringling Brothers Circus.
Man….what a flashback!

Yesterday was the first day I used the grill. It seemed to do just fine with the steaks and roasted potatoes. I’ll make a full report after the next BBQ session.

The Better Half and I were discussing “lethality” earlier - we decided that there must be other factors besides power and quantity - like shooter proficiency, target environment and a bunch of other things that come to mind.

But power and quantity does seem to address basic “lethality capability” of a firearm.

Interesting stuff to think about.
