The last time I went to a gun store or a gun show, I do not recall seeing RPGs, automatic weapons, high capacity magazines or hand grenades. So how do A.G. Holder, members of congress and the anti-gun community manage to blame U.S. gun ownership on the ability the cartels have to obtain this kind of firepower? The answer is they are purposely being myopic about the reality of the situation (as always) and focusing on their primary enemies, the legitimate gun owners of America.

Over the past few weeks, the number of stories in the press regarding the escalating violence in Mexico has dramatically increased. Now, hardly a day goes by when another story describing the atrocities committed by violent drug cartels cannot be found in an American newspaper or on a cable news channel.

Gun owners need to pay attention to these stories, because the opponents of our Second Amendment rights are starting to use this situation as a pretext to push their gun ban agenda here in the United States.

New Attorney General Eric Holder is the first Administration official to cite Mexican drug cartel killings as an excuse to reinstate the semi-auto ban. And now some in Congress have jumped on the bandwagon.

This is dedicated to Sean Penn, Janeane Garofalo, George Clooney, and the hundreds of narcissistic Hollywood types that won’t just shut the fuck up and act.

They don’t acquire their guns through legitimate firearms dealers. They don’t obey any of the ‘common sense’ gun laws that governments put in place to ‘protect’ the public. They live outside the system and they defy anyone to stop them. Shockingly, the Obama Administration has no intention of ever addressing the actual problem - gangs - both foreign and domestic.

Did you know that 80 percent of the crime in this country is committed by less than 1 percent of the population?

The FBI says the one million gang members in this country are responsible for four out of five crimes, yet the Obama administration seems to ignore this fact to focus on gun control that has nothing to do with breaking the back of criminal gang violence.

For example: The Obama administration only mentions gangs in the “Urban Policy” portion of its agenda, not in crime and law enforcement. Yet the FBI tells us “Gang migration from urban communities to suburban and rural locations, which began more than two decades ago, is a significant and growing problem in most areas of the country.”

It’s shocking that this White House limits violent gangs to “Urban Policy” solutions. Its agenda focuses on support for gun control that would do nothing to reduce gang activity, but would erode the Second Amendment rights of every law-abiding American -including history’s most sweeping ban on semi-automatic firearms.

The Obama plan seems to ignore the one million gang members who commit 80 percent of the crime in this country, while targeting the 80 million lawful gun owners in the United States. That’s not a solution to gang violence, and it’s not “Change.”

In fact, it’s just relying on the same failed policies that have made Chicago one of the most crime-ridden cities in the country.

I get my truck into the shop every few months for a tune-up and oil change. If something needs fixing, it gets fixed. I keep my truck compliant with all safety and emissions requirements imposed by the state. I pay to have it inspected every two years. I have a good driving record and get a break on my liability and collision vehicle insurance. I’m a long-standing member of the Auto Club.

That’s why it galls the living shit out of me when I see a piece of shit (pre-Nissan) Datsun flatbed piled high with a tenuously-secured teetering load, making “poomp poomp poomp” noises and spouting gray smoke from the exhaust. How in the hell, I wonder, does this asshole comply with safety and emissions requirements?

There seems to be a special “exception” for non-compliant vehicles used in pursuit of a “business.” Oh, by the way, the state recently imposed additional emissions restrictions on the rest of us in order to offset the shit coming out of these “exceptional” vehicles.

It’s time to get these piles of crap off the streets.

An armed felon can walk in with a loaded gun and take charge . . .

Gunman Robs Turner’s Gun Shop

(September 22, 2008) A robber fired a shot into a ceiling and took a bag filled with 10 to 15 guns from a Redondo Beach store this morning, police said.

The robbery at Turner’s Outdoorsman at Hawthorne and Redondo Beach boulevards occurred about 10:45 a.m., police Sgt. Phil Keenan said.

The man pulled a gun and demanded the employees remove guns from a display case and put them in a bag. He fired a bullet into the ceiling “to confirm his adamancy” in robbing the business, Keenan said.

The gunman walked away west and out of sight.

Nobody inside the business was hurt.

“It’s very concerning when a confirmed bad guy has 10 to 15 more handguns,” Keenan said. “He is not going to use them. He is probably going to sell them.”

The robber was described as Asian, 20 to 25 years old, wearing a black baseball cap, a Pendleton sweater, and possibly tan pants.

Yet another instance of just how well gun laws are working to prevent violent crime.

Update: These guys must have a very slow learning curve:

In 2001, three gunmen robbed Turner’s in Redondo Beach, beating a cashier in the head with a gun. They escaped with $300 and six handguns.

Here’s one reason to keep your SUV clean. Some ‘artist’ decided to decorate the back window of this Ford Explorer I saw in traffic this weekend.

If it were just a matter of running through the car wash when this happens, it would be no big deal. However, the general graffiti problem is nearly everywhere these days. Vandals tag sides of buildings, overpasses on the interstates, railroad cars, billboards and just about any surface that you can spray paint. The cost of this vandalism is millions of dollars per month in my area alone.

Last week, a local called police to alert them to taggers that had climbed up on a billboard. When the police arrived, the taggers fled, but left a car behind. The police traced the vehicle registration to a residence and dispatched a team with a warrant. Police discovered dozens upon dozens of photographs taken of the vandalism. These punks are proud of the shit they do.

I have to laugh when the only punishment these creeps get is that they have to ‘pay restitution’ to the owners of the property they vandalized. Good luck on collecting the 35,000 to 50,000 dollars in damages from these illiterate graduates from the public school system.

It’s small, but all you really need . . .
