Nappy Incompitano

Homeland Security will enforce immigration laws - well, maybe except for some or all of them so the agency can concentrate on “extremism” . . .

From The Patriot Post:

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano has indicated that the administration will be enforcing immigration law as if the stalled DREAM Act were actually passed. Specifically, the Obama administration will not deport illegal-alien students who would have been covered by the law’s provisions. “I will say, and can say, that you know what? They are not, that group, if they truly meet all those criteria, and we see very few of them actually in the immigration system, if they truly meet those [criteria], they’re not the priority,” the secretary babbled. “The reason we set priorities is so that the focus could be on those in the country who are also committing other illegal acts.”

We understand that not every law is going to be enforced 100 percent of the time — perfection is not for mere mortals — but the administration is acting as if a law that hasn’t passed actually has been passed in order to avoid enforcing laws already on the books that the administration doesn’t favor. To add insult to injury, Napolitano is declaring these priorities at the same time she’s touting the border as being secure. Nothing to see here, folks. Move along.

Attention Arizonans: SB-1201 Judiciary Committee Email

noguns.pngI received this message from NRA-ILA today:

On Thursday, March 24 the House Judiciary Committee will consider Senate Bill 1201. A comprehensive Right-to-Carry reform bill, SB 1201 would, among other things, remove arbitrary bans across the state on carrying a firearm for self-defense.

This pro-gun bill is a comprehensive firearms reform measure which would make a number of improvements to Arizona’s carry laws. Most importantly, it would help put an end to “gun free” signs limiting your right to carry in most currently prohibited places and unsecured buildings. This reasonable right-to-carry reform legislation is designed to prohibit the arbitrary lines created by these signs which currently restrict your right to self-defense.

I have set up an email forwarding address that sends mail to all of the Arizona House Judiciary Committee members:

Using the forwarding address, I sent this to the committee members this morning:

Dear Arizona House Judiciary Committee Member,

The purpose of this correspondence is to encourage you to vote favorably for SB-1201, the Firearms Omnibus act. We are law abiding senior citizens who carry firearms for our self protection. The arbitrary posting of No Guns Allowed placards at businesses and other places we would like to enter discourage us from patronizing them. The enactment of this legislation would likely bring our patronage to those places where signs are posted while allowing us to be armed and safe.

Respectfully,

Good and Bad in California

AmmoThe good news is that the Fresno Superior Court ruled today that California’s new ammunition regulation law (AB 962) is unconstitutional, and blocked further enforcement.

Congratulations to the NRA, CRPA and others that worked hard and fought for Californian’s rights.

The bad news is that today two students were shot by a negligent discharge from another student’s gun at Gardena High School. The gun, which was in a backpack went off when the student plopped it down when entering the classroom.

But wait! Why didn’t three laws - prohibiting guns on campus, possession of guns by minors and carrying a concealed firearm - keep this from happening?

Anti-gunners, don’t hurt your brains trying to figure it out.

Root Cause

I know that Ramirez‘ point to indict negligent parenting is completely correct, but I never saw a manual safety on any Glock. Of course, Glocks have built-in safety features.

Regardless, Ramirez does a pretty good rendition of a Glock 19 and his point about the lack of responsible parenting is well-taken. Clickable image.

LAPD’s Most Wanted

Do you suppose that the unchecked illegal alien influx into Southern California has anything to do with the following graph of LAPD’s 206 most wanted criminals?

la-most-wanted.png

Chart statistics taken from Los Angeles Police Department’s MOST WANTED database.

There has been no mention in any of the mainstream media in L.A. of the obviously lopsided statistical data. Are they intentionally concealing the data? They seem to go out of their way to avoid reporting surnames of criminals.

I’m just reporting the numbers here. If you have a problem with it then refer to the political correctness warning in the sidebar and the disclaimer on the ABOUT page.

SB 1070 Injunction Hearing

doing the jobWith all the post election day coverage, the hearing of SB 1070 (the Arizona Immigration Law) arguments by the Ninth Circuit Court went virtually unnoticed by the media.

In addition to ignoring this landmark case, the media covered very little of Jan Brewer’s campaign for reelection. It’s like the media morons think that hiding from the issues will make them go away or something.

Statement by Arizona Governor Jan Brewer:

PHOENIX [November 1, 2010] – “Today the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal’s heard arguments regarding the State of Arizona’s request to lift the injunction put in place by the federal district court in July regarding enforcement SB 1070.

“My counsel, John Bouma, argued that this case is about what a state – any state – can do about a failed federal immigration system that even President Obama acknowledges is broken. There are very serious crimes associated with this failure, including human smuggling, drug trafficking and other activities involving coyotes in Arizona, as acknowledged by Judge Bolton. Arizona is on the front line in a fight against crime that is spilling over the international border. As noted in the court record, the federal government has essentially had to cede a vast territory inside the State of Arizona to the drug runners and human smugglers.

“With a federal government that cannot or will not do its job, Arizona determined that Arizona law enforcement officers would assist in the enforcement of federal immigration laws to the full extent permitted by federal law. The District Court applied the wrong legal standard of review and issued a preliminary injunction that preserves the status quo – a status quo that is unacceptable to the people lawfully present in Arizona, many whose lives are affected on a daily basis.

Although the judges asked challenging questions of both sides during this morning’s hearing, we are hopeful that after carefully considering the arguments, the Ninth Circuit will lift the stay and allow SB 1070 to be enforced. The health, welfare and safety of the citizens of Arizona are irreparably harmed every day the courts allow SB 1070 to be put on hold and the federal government refuses to enforce all immigration laws.”

Emphasis added.

Dispelling Arizona Immigration Myths - Part 10

doing the jobThis is the final post in the series of ten articles intended to dispel misinformation generated by illegal aliens and open-borders liberals about SB 1070, the new immigration law in Arizona. This canard is analogous to traffic violators being ticketed to use the stupid ‘cops should be catching criminals’ routine. The law is the law, idiots . . .

MYTH: S.B. 1070 does nothing to address the “real” public safety threats to Arizona border violence, drug cartels and human smuggling.

FACT: S.B. 1070 is not intended to be the single solution to Arizona’s extraordinary illegal immigration problems.Just as the demand in the United States for illegal drugs fuels the drug traffic, the demand and tolerance of persons who are not authorized to be in Arizona fuels, in part, the human smuggling traffic. Along with many other existing provisions of Arizona law, S.B. 1070 will serve as the best Arizona can do until the federal government fully secures our border and restores integrity to our immigration system. These other existing statutes include the toughest employer sanctions law in the nation (including the mandatory use of E-Verify) and refusal to provide any public benefits to unauthorized aliens.

I like the comparison between illegal alien tolerance and drug use. Both are dangerous and do much damage to our country. Shame on the Obamination and all previous administrations for sinking the country into our current state of illegal alien chaos.
