We’re Terminated

ammoOr we’re Californicated as Sebastian puts it. Despite a flood of opposition to AB 962, the Governator just terminated us from buying ANY ammo in Kalifornistan.

Sebastian also speculated that ammo imports by private citizens just might increase from neighboring states. I have personal knowledge that the speculation shall come to pass. I understand also that Cabela’s will refuse to sell ammo to anyone in California (like law enforcement, maybe?) - other ammo vendors/manufacturers need to jump on that bandwagon.

Now, where did I put that list of ammo vendors in Arizona?

Update: A response to the Governator (something other than the tempting response of “FUCK YOU, ASSHOLE!“)

Free

free.jpgWell, the day is here. My hitch with the aerospace mill is finally over and I am officially retired. I played the “Get out of Jail Free” card today and it feels great.

The pre-retirement kabuki took some figuring and planning, but it’s all done and now we can relax and enjoy. We’ve already applied for the Better Half’s NRA Life Membership (mine has been effect for a couple of years already). We’re not going to significantly add to the arsenal until such time as we’re relocated to outside of California, obviously because of the bullshit gun and ammunition restrictions in La La Land.

Maybe the ultimate “Get out of Jail Free” is to put the formerly Golden State, and the shithole it has become, behind us once and for all.

Greg Gutfeld on Arthur Frommer

One of my daily stops is to read the musings and rants of Fox News’ Greg Gutfeld. Gut’s humor and insight are - well - entertaining.

Today’s treatise was about one Arthur Frommer, in particular, but it was also about right to carry versus crime rates. I don’t know how many pro-gun guys read Gut, but today’s Daily Gut is worth the read:

MONDAY’S GREGALOGUE: FROMMER = TOOL

gut.jpgSo the king of the travel guide racket, Arthur Frommer, has come out against Arizona. Yes, he claims he’ll no longer visit the state because it permits “thugs” to openly carry guns. He revealed this on his blog, after witnessing a protester carrying a rifle outside a building where the President was speaking.

Frommer says he’ll consider whether “tourists should safeguard themselves” by avoiding the crime-ridden hell-hole that is the Grand Canyon. After I read about this, I decided to do a search to see if Frommer ever made similar pronouncements about other cities or states. I wondered if he had ever told people to avoid Washington DC, where, according to a US Bureau of Justice Statistics, 2004 report – that place topped the entire country in crime.

Zilch. Nor could I find any such commentary, regarding Detroit, Memphis or Miami - the only large cities in the US with more than 950 violent crimes per 100,000 people, according to FBI’s 2008 crime report. And what of President Obama’s very own Chicago, a city experiencing a dramatic uptick in shootings, muggings and other violent gang activity? Did Frommer warn travelers away from that bullet-ridden borough?

Nope. Fact is, Frommer went after Arizona, because it’s an easy target. It’s just a bunch a white rednecks with guns, even if one of the white rednecks is uh, black. And it feeds Frommer’s ego: voicing an opinion in sync with the liberal, like-minded media provides him, for a brief moment, an elevated sense of self.

But I sympathize. All he does all day is make travel guides.

Maybe he should get out more.

All the more reason to move to Arizona.
