Happy Turkey Day

And Happy Hunting.

And Happy Hunting.
As you enjoy the holiday today, take a moment to remember that many of our men and women in the military will be on duty, away from home and family. Without them and their sacrifices throughout the history of our nation, we might not be celebrating independence at all.
Please visit one or more of these charities and help to make someones day a little better.

Thanks to those who wear the uniform, these colors don’t run.
Flag Day, June 14, 2008
The anniversary of the Flag Resolution of 1777 was officially established by the Proclamation of President Woodrow Wilson on May 30th, 1916. While Flag Day was celebrated in various communities for years after Wilson’s proclamation, it was not until August 3rd, 1949, that President Truman signed an Act of Congress designating June 14th of each year as National Flag Day.
Keep in mind that this country wouldn’t have a day celebrating the Star Spangled Banner had it not been for “the rockets red glare, the bombs bursting in air.” The strength of America lies within her resolve to be free and to defend that freedom and well-being with whatever force it takes to do so.
America’s strength also depends on individual strength and sacrifice. Individuals have the choice to become a part of the greater Militia by owning firearms. The Second Amendment to the Constitution guarantees that. This month, the Supreme Court will render their decision on the DC Gun Case which is almost certain to render the ban unconstitutional. Helmke the Hopolophobe has all but conceded defeat before the fact.
Long may she fly and long may she be defended by all of us.
Nobody has a crappier holiday than Mister Hanky.

Christmas is a time for love, peace, family and of course, guns.
A store called Urban Outfitters is selling a Christmas ornament called the glittering gun. It’s just what its name implies - something you hang on your tree to celebrate the season.
The Toronto location of Urban Outfitters refused to comment on the controversial bauble but the company’s Philadelphia head office was more than willing to defend the product.
“The gun ornament is by no means condoning the violence that we face in our city or any other city and it is not meant to celebrate guns or gun violence,” a statement reads. “It is meant only to ironically celebrate the holidays.”
And while the company contends the entire idea is based on irony and many would never allow it into their house, there’s a telling ending to this story: the local outlet here admits it’s almost completely sold out of them.
Damn - and I really wanted one. I’ll have to settle for this maybe.
I’m thankful for many things today — our troops, our freedom, our guns and our prosperity.
Oh yeah . . . and FOOD!

And the beer too.
