McCain’s Non-committal Reply Re: Traver

snafu.jpgI contacted both Arizona Senators regarding the Obamination’s nomination of gun grabber Andrew Traver to be the head of BATFE. One of Senator McCain’s robots sent this reply to me today:

Thank you for contacting me regarding the nomination of Andrew Traver to be the Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (BATFE). I appreciate hearing from you on this important topic.

As you may know, President Obama re-submitted the nomination of Mr. Traver to the United States Senate on January 5th, 2011 after he failed to secure confirmation during the last Congress. Mr. Traver’s nomination was immediately referred to the Senate Judiciary Committee, where he currently awaits a hearing. Should the committee discharge the nomination and send it to the full Senate for confirmation, please know that I will thoroughly evaluate his experience, qualifications, temperament, and position on the Constitutional right to bear arms before voting.

Thank you again for taking the time to write me. Please feel free to contact me on this or any other issue in the future.

Sincerely,

John McCain
United States Senator

The emphasis above is mine. Don’t forget that Senator McCain voted in favor of confirming Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a confirmed anti-second amendment commie liberal to become an associate justice on the SCOTUS “because she is qualified.”

I stole the BATFE/SNAFU logo from The Patriot Post. The logo was part of an excellent essay by Mark Alexander on the Obamination’s attack on the Second Amendment and the recent BATFE screw up.

Internet Bullshit of the Day

Stuff like this makes me wonder if there is any sanity left in politically-correct minds.

From AP via the Daily Disease:

LONDON - An unassuming semi-detached house in Wales has become an unlikely Web star after Internet users decided that it looks a lot like Adolf Hitler’s face.

Update: If the following were true, the world would be a better place . . .

Helicopter Flight form Wickenburg to Phoenix

I ran across this by accident while I searched for something entirely unrelated. It’s been years since I flew helicopters, but it still got the old juices flowing when I watched this 2½ minute video of scenes taken during a flight from Wickenburg to Phoenix. Play the video, although I recommend you mute the annoying music track.

Recycled Antlers?

antler-lamp.jpgOur new bedroom set arrived today. The Better Half took this picture of one of the night stands and one of the lamps we bought for the master bedroom at the new house. I thought that the antlers on the lamp base might be genuine, but upon closer inspection, I could tell they were molded from plastic or some other composite material.

Oh well, The Better Half loves them and the entire bedroom set. That’s good enough for me.

Sunday Dinner

sunday-bbq.jpg

We had beautiful blue skies and warm temperatures today. I broke out a couple of beef tenderloin steaks today and grilled up a feast that included the tenderloins smothered in mushrooms, roasted potato wedges, asparagus, Brussels sprouts and grilled squash. Damn - this was good eats. The Better Half tended to the veggies and I took on the steaks. Clickable image.

Transporting the Sebring

We brought The Better Half’s Sebring Convertible to her new Arizona home on Thursday. The trip took six hours since the tow dolly had a maximum towing speed of less than the speed limits. The trip went smoothly and we were at the Arizona house by about 5 PM. We were too road weary to unpack and unhook when we arrived, so we did it on Friday. Today, we did some landscaping using some of the cacti we brought over in the trunk.

The Japanese Radiation Threat

The following animated graphic summarizes the media morons and political morons take on the radiation threat from the recent nuclear plant disasters in Japan . . .

Prof. Terry Lovell on Obamination Attack on U.S.

If you do nothing else today, be sure and listen to Dr. Lovell’s message on Arizona’s SB-1070 immigration enforcement law. This isn’t just about Arizona, it’s about the entire country vs. Mexican Cartels. Plain and simple language on SB-1070.
