Watch Times Square in 3D

webcast.bmpI read Ace of Spades HQ post this morning about New Year’s Eve 3D Livestreaming. I logged into the Earthcam 3D site and, being a stealth nerd with a pair of anaglyph (red-blue or red-cyan) 3D glasses, watched a bit of the Times square festivities in 3D. The 3D webcam pans around from time to time to several different views.

They claim that this the first-ever webcast in 3D. The site provides instructions (or links to instructions) on how to make your own 3d glasses Kind of like an arts and crafts project. The viewing mode can be switched to 3DTV (LCD glasses) or 2D (your naked eyes) as well.

Whether you watch the 3D or not, have a very Happy New Year.

Repeal the Obamination

The idea for this animation came from a bumper sticker I saw in Arizona - the sticker said REPEAL OBAMACARE with CARE crossed out.

Rain Going and Rain Coming

The Better Half and I are back in California today. We had a good, productive visit to the Arizona house, so that offsets the weather we got while commuting between the homes. We had a rainy drive going and coming.

More Finishing Touches

new-drive.jpgOne of the local furniture outlets delivered a new bed today. When we come back after the New Years break in California, we will have a place to sleep, shower, cook and relax.

The contractor poured the driveway today, so we can start using the garage when we return. Final inspection took place today, so we’re good to go!

Next time we start acquiring our furnishings and decor, internet, satellite TV and other services. We’re just about there!

Finishing Touches

finishing-touches.jpgThe new house is mostly finished at this point. Activities today included installation of the gas meter and grading/framing prior to pouring the concrete driveway.

We bought a bed for one of the small bedrooms today. When it’s delivered we will have a place to sleep until we acquire furnishings for the rest of the house.

I called a screen installation company and their representative came to the house today and gave us a quote for window screens. I will also be looking into installing a security door with a southwestern design.

After today’s activities, all that remains is installation of a few exterior sconces and some cleanup prior to final inspection. If that happens within the next week then we will be saying goodbye to our hotel folks and staying in the new house when we return in January.

Improv-ice

improv-ice.jpgWe went out to the new house yesterday on our way to go shopping for a few things. One of the items we needed was ice for the cooler to keep the beer cold at the hotel room.

The Better Half looked in the freezer section of the refrigerator in our new house and noticed that there were lots of ice cubes in the ice-maker. A light-bulb went off in her head - we could take this ice to the hotel room! But, we didn’t have a plastic bag - or did we? If you look carefully at the photo (clickable image) you will notice three small bags with zebra stripes on one side and white on the other. Yep - they are three doggie doogie pickup bags filled with ice cubes - and the Buds are cold and they taste the same. ;)

Gargoyle Greetings

The Better Half and I went out to get a couple of things today. She noticed these gargoyles at one of the residences in town with Santa hats, so she needed to get me a picture to post here on Christmas Day. And here they are - clickable image.
