Groundbreaking Set for New Arizona Home
Earlier this week, we met with our builder, Kevin, to finalize the plans for our new Adobe Hacienda in Wickenburg, AZ. Kevin is busily pulling the permits today and now that the financing is in place, we’re anxious to head out to the lot to turn over the first spadeful of decomposed granite. Maybe as early as tomorrow.
The blue stake in the image above marks the southeast corner of the concrete pad for the new house. If you click on the image, you will see a panoramic image from the south property line (left) to the east property line (right) of the half acre lot we bought for the construction. Our property extends halfway up the ridge on the right and to the wash beyond the graded pad on the left.
By the way, it was up to 116° in town today. We spent the warmest part of the day in a great little Western Museum, air conditioned, of course.

Go baby, go!
I always crack up when I hear comedians do their routines about “Yeah, but it’s a DRY heat!”. 116* is plenty hot. Just keep hydrated, don’t over-exert, stay in the shade, and you’ll be fine.

The dog, The Better Half and I always re-hydrate frequently. After six, for The Better Half and me, the re-hydration medium changes to magic amber fluid which gives us powers to cope with the heat.
We’ll be fine, indeed.

Ah, yes….the magic amber elixir of life!
Always good to have a nice cold one after baking all day.
