If I am not mistaken, Tam has an upper from those folks, and swears by them.
Granted, it definitely seems like something that could come loose at the worst possible opportunity, but it also seems like something simply and completely awesome.
If I had the coinage…

The system performance seems to be reliable enough for SPECOPS, so I assume it must be pretty good.
Yes the price is up there. Not only for the piece, but also for the ammunition to feed it.
But then be glad we’re not made of money - that would make us all green and wrinkled.

Oh, it looks ever so evil - I want one, I want one…

Oh, no doubt, Minstrel. I just belong to the “fewer moving parts = good” mentality of engineering, mostly because I break enough stuff on my own to not need my equipment’s assistance.
But, as you say, if it is being considered by the guys in harm’s way, it will probably suffice for my range-confined tinkering.
But if it explodes, I am coming after you.

I almost built (or bought) one of those quick-switch-barrel uppers, but I didn’t figure I was going to be changing calibers around all the time and the cost nixed it. It seems most useful for select-fire guys who might need to change a barrel in a hurry.

Very good eye candy. I also like this site. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the comments, guys. Always informative.
Robocop, I looked at your weblog and it would seem that we have the same ideas about how the world is supposed to work.
Thanks for the compliment.

Seems to me that something as simple as that would be hard enough to break that you would have to really try in order to succeed, but who knows? After all I have managed to get 12 consecutive failures to fire out of a brand new .22LR Rolling Block with Fiocchi Match ammo, so anything is possible.
