Campground Cookout

Dude, I know the campground is crowded, weekend traffic and all, but shouldn’t you put your open fire a little farther from the methane? Just sayin’.

Possible Down Time Today

Never mind the man behind the curtain . . .

Dear Customer:

On Saturday October 17, 2009 at 10:00 am PDT we will be migrating all MySQL databases to a new server. The new server is to alleviate recent issues caused by high load on the current server as well as to upgrade to MySQL version 5.1.

The procedure we will use to migrate will ensure the least amount of downtime per database.

The window for this maintenance is 2 hours. During this time there will be periods of intermittent connectivity errors to MySQL.

Thank you,
Omnis Network, LLC

Pima Air Museum Fly-By

We stopped by the Pima Air Museum in Tucson, AZ today. We would have gone in except for one minor “No Firearms Allowed” placard. Screw it. I can see the good stuff through the fence, be armed and save the 25 dollar admission ripoff for the two of us.

There is this one good shot that the Better Half got of an A7 with a C-130 in a low-pass in the distance.

Sweet. Clickable image.

Guns and Ammo Stores - Arizona Style

We’re not in California any more, Toto . . .

How much is that Glockie in the window?

Terrible wireless connection tonight. We won’t be posting anyhing else until tomorrow.

Saguaro Flipper

saguaro-flip.jpg

The Better Half took this photo of a saguaro cactus making an obscene gesture.

I would like to think that it symbolizes the feeling of those of us who fight for the right to keep and bear arms toward those who would disarm us.

The Better half thinks the saguaro’s karma is directed toward the government - or, terrorism - or Hollywood liberals - or, most likely, Arnold Schwarzenegger and the Kullyfoania Legislature.

Fender Bender

On Interstate 10 just east of the state line, we passed an accident site. We briefly had to wait while the authorities got the number one lane cleared for traffic. When I drove past the site, the Better Half captured several images, including this one.

Fender bender? Not exactly what you might think. When the little red car got tangled up with a cattle truck, its fender wound up in the left rear set of duals, all bent to hell. Well, the entire vehicle was bent to hell, but I thought the fender in the wheel wells was an interesting touch.

I don’t believe that any livestock were killed or injured in the making of this film. I like my beef tender, but . . .

We’re Terminated

ammoOr we’re Californicated as Sebastian puts it. Despite a flood of opposition to AB 962, the Governator just terminated us from buying ANY ammo in Kalifornistan.

Sebastian also speculated that ammo imports by private citizens just might increase from neighboring states. I have personal knowledge that the speculation shall come to pass. I understand also that Cabela’s will refuse to sell ammo to anyone in California (like law enforcement, maybe?) - other ammo vendors/manufacturers need to jump on that bandwagon.

Now, where did I put that list of ammo vendors in Arizona?

Update: A response to the Governator (something other than the tempting response of “FUCK YOU, ASSHOLE!“)

Parts Is Parts

I’m not much in a creative mood tonight, so I’ll just post a pic of a couple of the guns that went to the range today and were field-stripped and ready for cleanup and inspection. I had an actual jam today with “Little Boy” my 9mm Glock 26. I was firing some “limited penetration” (personal protection HP) rounds when the misfeed occurred, to wit: the last round in the magazine didn’t feed all the way into the chamber. Inspection showed no reason why that should have happened.
