The Phantoms of Quartzsite
Just off of Interstate 10 in Quartzsite, AZ, there is a park dedicated to the concept of freedom through strength. That’s something that the Obamination seems to forget - we’re free because we are willing to FIGHT for freedom.
This is an F-4 “Phantom” (clickable image) - sometimes referred to as the “Wild Weasel.” This remarkable aircraft was deployed as Navy Squadron VX-4 at the U.S. Naval Air Station at Point Mugu, CA, while I was stationed there as an aviation electronics technician. Seeing these here today took me back to the days when we were proud to serve under a Democratic administration headed up by JFK.
Today? Not so much.

I haven’t experienced anyone being willing to fight for freedom. As a matter of fact, if you even hint at “fighting” for freedom (I mean really fighting, not protesting and complaining which is simply ignored by the elected elite) you get chewed out by the same guys who are stating that things are really bad and getting worse and we need to do something. Just not fight. Maybe we could throw some rocks at photos of Obama, Reid, Dodd, Frank, Pelosi et. al. Bet that’ll get their attention. Yes sir, our founding fathers would be really proud.
Talking, complaining and protesting is NOT WORKING. HELLO!
At what point do “we the people” step up to the plate for real?

The F-4 Phantom II was never referred to as a ‘Wild Weasel.’ Wild Weasel was a mission not an aircraft. Though F-4s did fly Wild Weasel on occasion, the vast majority of Wild Weasel missions were flown by F-105 Thunderchiefs and A-6 Intruders. The Phantom was often referred to as the “Brick” because of its flight characteristics and, in the Marine Corps, we called them “Thunder Pigs” because of the excessive amount smoke put out before the “S” model came out.
