Custom ‘56 Chevy Station Wagon

One of the neighbors is into custom cars. We often see these old customized classics when he entertains his buddies. The Better Half shot this clickable image on our way out for a couple of errands.

Sunday at the Shooting Range

fat-man-mags.jpgToday I took ‘Fat Man” to the range for target practice. The Better Half took “Miss Piggy.” Both guns are .45 ACP compact pistols, so we took a couple of boxes of UMC .45 rounds. We shot those and then some shotgun shells for a total of 150 rounds. Good fun.

We reported about the funky new target “system” the range uses these days. We can sort of mitigate the funkiness by hanging a panel of cardboard and taping the targets to that. The result is less flying in the breeze and the targets no longer tend to fold in half. I’ll take some photos/videos next time I get a chance and post again about it here.

I took this clickable image of Fat Man and a couple of the magazines after cleaning him up at home.

Imaged by The Better Half last winter in Northern Arizona. Some careless pet owner left this to freeze overnight in the campground.

The Never Ending Campaign

obamanable.pngYou can see that the Obamination is bound and determined to have the health insurance sham by prioritizing it as high as the George W. Bush Administration prioritized terrorists and the attack on America.

Excerpted from Politico:

President Barack Obama will address a joint session of Congress on health care reform in prime time on Wednesday, Sept. 9, a senior official tells POLITICO.

Obama will receive House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid at the White House the day before for a previously scheduled sit-down.

The last time a president addressed a joint session of Congress that wasn’t a State of the Union, or the traditional first address by a new president, was Sept. 20, 2001, when President George W. Bush spoke on the war on terrorism following the 9/11 attacks.

Take money from the taxpayer and burn it. Yeah - that works SOOO good.

Californicated Cabs

town-cab.jpgHow long it will be before the whacko liberals in Sacramento reach out to the precedent being set by the whacko liberals in New York? To wit: elimination of comfortable taxi cabs . . .

Lincoln Town Car Taxis May Soon Be Way of the Past in NYC

The sight of rows of black Lincoln Town Cars filling the streets and curbs of Manhattan may soon be gone. With the city passing new emissions and fuel economy laws for its taxi fleets, the trusty Town Car does not come close to meeting the new regulations.

New cars that enter service starting January 1, 2009 must achieve at least 25 mpg in the city; in 2010, the figure jumps to 30 mpg. The problem for luxury taxi businesses is that there is no full-size sedan that comes close to meeting the requirements. Even the Lexus LS460h hybrid sedan returns an EPA city rating of 20 mpg.

For nearly thirty years, the Town Car has been the staple for “black car” operators in New York City. The cars mixed a spacious interior and luxury with dependability. Drivers said that a Lincoln Town Car could routinely last for 250,000 miles with regular maintenance.

I guess those assholes in NYC would have you riding in the back of this piece of shit like they do in the People’s Republic of Santa Monica, California . . .

On Sale - But

Commenter Shawn came on this weekend to alert us that the S&W M&P 15-22 is on sale at Cabela’s for $429. Only problem for us here in the (formerly) Golden State, is there aren’t any stores in that chain within a day’s driving distance.

15-22

California - Land of the Looney Tunes - On fire, empty treasury, some of the worst gun laws in the country and the Obamination STILL has a 62% approval rating. I don’t blame Cabela’s or any other chain that won’t do business here.
