The Remington MCS
I knew that Remington made militarized products, but today, I finally looked them up on the web. My eye was drawn to the Remington MCS product line . . .

The asymmetrical nature of the modern battlefield has redefined the role of the shotgun for today’s soldier. The greater need for versatility, durability and reliability has made current military shotgun offerings obsolete. Remington has responded to these changing needs with a Combat Shotgun System that provides unmatched operator-level modularity in the Model 870 Modular Combat Shotgun (MCS). [More]

Man, that thing looks like a handful!
*Finally* got by the range today to pick up my membership card and check things out. They’re carrying a new line of rifles (don’t remember the name) that look really sweet. Little steep in price, but very well made.

I’ll have to check out the new line. When we were there Sunday, we didn’t notice them.
Speaking of military shotguns, check this out.

They’ve got a couple of them left. The counter guy said five came in, all “CA Legal”, and they were selling fast.
$2500 for a really spiffy Evil Black Rifle is a bit rich for me. My next purchase will be a scoped Savage in 308.

We’re going to hold off until we move to Arizona or Utah before getting a rifle. We figure that’s the best way to avoid the nonsensical California Bullshit.

Can’t say as I blame you! The gf has over 20 years with the LBUSD, so even though *I* could find another job with comparable wages and benefits, *she* couldn’t. With the nice retirement package she’ll get, it makes no sense to move.
I *would* like to live up in Big Bear, though….

I have a colleague that will be retiring soon to Running Springs in the San Bernardino Mountains. Jed and Jan have their dream home up there already and are willing to put up with Californism just as long as they are left alone.
Sometimes you have to consider your status quo and work it out from there.
We, on the other hand, live in a very congested, high-crime-rate, tax-expensive and stupid gun law area. We don’t have our dream yet. I like our options since they are portable.
