S&W M&P 15 22
We’re still looking into getting a .22 caliber semi-auto pistol. Doing some research today, I ran across an article on Tactical Gun Fan about the new Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 AR-15 chambered in .22LR. I must say that I am intrigued by this nice gun and it’s eye-candiness (is that a word?).

Update: Welcome 2A Roundup Readers.
The S&W webpage describes this gun thus:
The new M&P15-22 is a dedicated M&P15-format rifle designed and built as a true .22 LR semi-auto from the ground up, with all the standard operating features and accessory specifications of a modern-version centerfire M&P15 rifle.

My guess is that since it’s a new product, it might be hard to find for a while.

Thanks, Alan.
I will have to check Academy out the next time we’re in El Paso, since that seems to be the closest store to Southern California.

I want one soooooo badly. My dad thought he was slick saying ” If you want a gun you need to get a .22 first”. I bet he didnt expect me to find something like this. Also I found them for under $400 online just waiting for them to restock.

Looks like as good an entry-level rifle as any I suspect. And California legal too.
