Camera Upgrade
I figured that I would need a new camera for some upcoming excursions and to visually record our activities after retirement. I might as well make this investment while I still get my regular working paycheck.
I got it yesterday and while I’m still learning all the details of operation, I’m sure that I’ll be happy with it. Clickable image.
Here’s some information about the new toy.
Canon Powershot SX110IS 9MP Digital Camera with 10x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Black).
- 9-megapixel image sensor for large photo-quality prints
- 10x optical image-stabilized zoom
- DIGIC III Image Processor with Genuine Canon Face Detection
- 3.0-inch LCD screen; Motion Detection technology and Red-eye Correction
- Powered by AA batteries
- capture images to SD/SDHC memory cards
The 10x zoom may come in handy at the range to get close-ups of the targets without having to reel them in.

Good choice, that. Better Half and I have been consistently impressed with Canon’s products - she has an old A-series camera that she still uses. I had to send my new XTi back to see its makers last week, but it was a refurb, and I guess that is a little understandable.
Regardless, that little camera should do you in good stead for a while yet.

I cannot disagree with your assessment of the Canon products. The Better Half just got a Canon XSi, which is very nice.
I like the pocket sized cameras - I still have my Canon A510 which has been dropped and abused several times (not intentionally) and still works just fine. I keep it in the center console of the truck. It comes in handy for impromptu photo ops.
