Seems Like A Waste
Target practice using Winchester 45 Auto 230 grain jacketed hollow point personal protection ammunition, that is. This is one of the magazines for “Fat Boy” loaded with 10 JHP rounds.

Due to a quirk in the ammo supply, these are the only .45 ACP ammo available at the local shooting range. Other sporting goods outlets in the area have Mother Hubbard’s Cupboards when it comes to .45 ammo.
So be it. We’re going to shoot these the next time we head over to the range.

I bought a couple of cases of that when the pallet came in. Yeah, it’s overkill for target practice, so it’s in my “Ready Reserve”, and I’m using my supply of FMJ to practice with!

Found some .45 UMC 230 gr FMJ ball rounds yesterday at Big 5 Hawthorne Blvd. store. I bought 200 rds. After next week’s session we’ll start using those.

I was in Pedro all weekend, and drove right by the Big5 on Western a couple of times. They were having a parking lot sale, and I almost stopped, but had too much Field Day stuff to do this weekend!

You’ll have to tell us how K6AA did this year. It’s been a long time since I went to Field Day, but I remember that it could be a lot of fun.

Our preliminary score is right about 10,000 points, higher than we’ve had in years.
