Combover Carl - Liar!

This is the sort of dementia we’ll be up against with the Obaminator government in charge. From the NRA-ILA:

Combover Carl LevinAs we reported last week, legislation to require a federal license to possess any detachable-magazine semi-automatic rifle or shotgun, or any handgun, has been introduced in Congress. Bills to re-impose the federal “assault weapon” and “large” magazine ban, or to impose a much broader ban, have been introduced in Congress since 2003, and will likely be introduced in the current Congress soon.

Already, the deliberate deceptions we heard from anti-gunners previously are resurfacing. Anti-gun Sen. Carl Levin, (D-Mich.), said Thursday on the floor of the Senate that “assault weapons” are “capable of firing up to 600 rounds per minute” and that they are “once again pervading our streets and neighborhoods.”

How many of you can squeeze off 10 rounds per second for an entire minute? How many of you have a 600 round magazine? How many semi-auto rifles are actually used in a crime?

I’m sure we all know the answers to these questions. Combover Carl and many others in congress are flat out liars.

Patriot Perspective

Mark Alexander, of The Patriot Post, penned this thoughtful and important message about the Second Amendment:

Patriot MilitiaPATRIOT PERSPECTIVE
Sixty million armed Patriots … and counting

By Mark Alexander

By now, you’ve probably heard that large sectors of the U.S. economy have collapsed, consumer confidence is at a historic low, Democrats control the executive, legislative and judicial branches of government, and they’re poised to print “bailout and infrastructure” money on the theory of “trickle up poverty” — risking a prolonged recession followed by hyperinflation.

If there is an economic recovery any time soon, it will be the result of private sector initiatives and a consumer confidence recovery, not the redistribution of a few trillion dollars among friends. Never fear, there is a “community organizer” at the helm.

And that’s the good news.

A 1975 El Dorado Convertible

I passed this clean baby-blue Cadillac on my way home the other day. It’s for sale outside of an independent Cadillac service shop. I passed it and didn’t have a chance to get a photo. I told the better half about this nice set of wheels, and, lo and behold, she brought this photo home today that she took while she was out and about.

baby blue Cadillac

It’s not exactly what I would drive around, but it’s classic look made me want to pause and admire it for a while.

Holder Confirmation Dirty Dealing

holder1.jpgThere is something smelly about the Holder confirmation process. According to Eli Lake in the Washington Times, Holder’s confirmation will be assured quid pro quo. The ‘deal’ is that the Justice Department will not pursue prosecution of Bush administration officials who authorized coercive interrogation techniques. All republicans have to do is allow Holder to be confirmed and nobody gets dragged through a messy prosecution.

This isn’t quid pro quo - it’s fucking blackmail.

The Gun Sales Boom and the Obamination

The Nuge Speaketh:

The NugeStop This Man

I have read more than one report that shows how the surge of civilian firepower sales began back when it appeared that Obama was likely to be elected. The already brisk guns and ammo market blew up another 25% once he was elected. Reason: freedom lovers do not trust liberal President Obama. His nomination for Attorney General, Mr. Eric Holder, proves that distrust is justified.

Misleading Headlines

The local rag had a story about an incident involving a police shooting:

Torrance officer shoots at 2 female robbery suspects, hitting 1.

When you read the article, as I did, you just might come to the conclusion that the headline should have been:

Woman strikes police officer with car, officer shoots suspect in self defense.

WTF is wrong with journalists these days?

Guard Dogs

Guard DogsI saw this truck when I was on the way home from target practice today. I was intrigued by the one statement on the sign that challenges you to call them first before putting your mean dog to sleep. The mean dog reference sent me back in time . . .

About thirty years ago, I worked part time as a flight instructor and part time managing the avionics sales and repair shop next door to the flight school. Our hangar had a lot of tools, equipment and expensive aircraft inside. We were burglarized once and thereafter had one of these services drop off three HUGE Dobermans every night at about six PM. In the morning at opening time, the dogmeister would return to get the Dobies, clean up the dogshit and take them to the kennel for the day. Even the handler would make sure that the dogs were muzzled before he would take off the snare he used to bring them under control.

There were no more burglaries in our hangar thereafter.
