CCWs Revoked by Activist Sheriff
An appointed county sheriff has begun disarming legitimate CCW holders in Orange County, CA. The sheriff was appointed to the post in the wake of trumped-up corruption charges brought against the previous elected sheriff to the post, Mike Carona. Carona saw the CCW as it was intended, that responsible individuals who could demonstrate an ability to carry would be permitted. Now, the rules have been changed by the PSH sheriff.
From the Orange County Register:
. . . the federal indictment against Carona details one specific instance where a wealthy contributor was granted a license under questionable circumstances. [1]
[Sheriff Sandra] Hutchens has said that connection prompted her to review the policies and tighten the standards. [2]
Her revisions, and the revocation letters, have enraged gun activists who are pressing county supervisors to take action.
“There’s a lot of business owners and a lot of gun owners that have had CCWs that have never met Mike Carona or contributed,” said Greg Block, a Huntington Beach-based firearms instructor and activist.
He and many activists suggest a different standard: “If you are not a convicted felon, you should be able to get able to get a CCW in California,” Block said. [3]
[1] Not a crime - may have been completely unrelated to contributions.
[2] A complete knee-jerk reaction to a non-problem.
[3] The real common sense approach.

Hopefully, Mike Carona will be acquitted of the garbage charges and get re-elected sheriff. He was a popular and damn good sheriff despised by the left for his law and order attitudes. Hutchens should have recused herself from the post, being one of Carona’s greatest critics.
And yes, she looks like she would have fit right in with “Der Waffen SS.”
