Braille Television

braille TVYet another example of overblown political correctness . . .

Let me get this straight - a sightless person will be using this remote control to change the channels on an television, right? How can a sightless person know when to stop? I can understand the volume control being marked since there is audio involved.

I know - I have been off the firearms topic for a couple of blogs I’ll get back to the topic of guns and self-defense soon - just as soon as I figure out how to work the new Blu-ray player - that is if I ever get it hooked up right.

Obama Crime Record

More evidence that Obama will be a serious problem for law and order. Imagine the judges this dude would appoint.

In 1998, Obama was one of only three senators to vote against a proposal making it a criminal offense for convicts on probation or on bail to have contact with a street gang.

In 2001, Obama voted against a measure that would have expanded the penalties for some gang activity to include the death penalty.

On a 1999 vote making adult prosecution mandatory for aggravated discharge of a firearm in or near a school, the senator voted “present.”

And in 2001, Obama voted “present” on a bill that would increase penalties for trafficking in Ecstasy and other designer drugs.

The senator missed a vote on the Safe Neighborhoods Act that would have made illegal gun possession a felony.

What an Obamination . . .

Bugged

bugged(adj) bugged (having hidden electronic eavesdropping devices) “wired hotel rooms”; “even the car is bugged”

(v) tease, badger, pester, bug, beleaguer (annoy persistently) “The children bugged the boy because of his off-beat clothing”

(v) wiretap, tap, intercept, bug (tap a telephone or telegraph wire to get information) “The FBI bugged the phone line of the suspected spy”; “Is this hotel room bugged?”

That’s it! That’s all of the internet definitions of “bugged” I could find. None of the above quite captures the meaning of “bugged” as does the photo to the left.

Thanks to Damsel for the photo.

Slime Politics

slimeWhen you screw up, you just bend the rules that you make.

So, what does an alderman do when he finds himself in violation of the law? He writes a new law. Mell has quietly introduced an ordinance that would reopen gun registration in Chicago and create a one-month amnesty for himself and other gun owners in the same predicament.

First Shot Today

Right out of the gate, it looked good. Then, the grouping expanded faster than Rosie O’Donnell’s waistline.

Overconfidence makes me sloppier than shit.

Web Broadcasts of NRA Bash Commence Tonight

lville-nra.jpgI’m sharing this email I just got from the NRA. Unfortunately, Louisville is out of the ‘weekend zone’ for me and I won’t be attending. I’ll be there vicariously, though. Planning to catch Cam and Company on as many of these scheduled webcasts as I can.

There’s no way we can bring you everything the Annual Meetings & Exhibits have to offer, but it’s our goal to make NRANews.com the next-best thing to being in Louisville.
