Interim Report

Damsel loves her little Warthog .45 ACP pistol. She’s breaking it in and making some progress:

warthogI’ve had my Para Ordinance Warthog for a couple of months now, and it’s finally showing signs of breaking in. Even with brand-new .45 ACP ammo, she would jam - a lot. I mean about once per 10 round magazine - sometimes twice. Gradually, after I learned how much lube this gun needs, she calmed down to one jam every couple of magazines. She’s been getting steadily better as I continue to shoot her every week.

Check out the picture of flying brass while she fires her ‘hog.

A New Internet Watering Hole for Hunters

Hunters have a new resource for keeping up on issues and threats we’re facing these days. The NRA announced a new website - NRA Hunters Rights - dedicated to dissemination of hunting news.

NRA

“NRA strongly supports game laws based on sound wildlife management, and we vehemently oppose laws that only serve the convenience of the bureaucracy,” Robinson continued. “The hunters rights’ abuses NRA addresses are not to shield the guilty but to protect the innocent from being treated like the guilty.

“With all these factors combining to make it harder for an average citizen to hunt, we saw a need to keep people informed through a Website devoted to hunters’ rights issues.”

More Handsome Hardware

So many firearms - so little cash. Maybe Santa will bring one. I’ve been sorta good.

Xtrema

The 391 semi-automatic family is expanding: In 2002, Beretta introduced the A391 Xtrema. This gun quickly garnered Field & Stream’s “Best Gun of the Year Award,” Guns & Ammo’s “Editor’s Award for Gun of the Year” and American Rifleman’s “Bull’s Eye Award.” One of the reasons it received such widespread acclaim is that no other gun on the market has more recoil-reduction features than the Xtrema.

In the relentless pursuit of excellence, our engineers have once again set the benchmark for a “do-it-all” shotgun in the form of the new Xtrema2. The Xtrema2 features: Soft shooting gas operation; An integrated spring-mass recoil reducer; Optima-bore overborred barrel; Kick-off recoil reduction.

Handsome Hardware

P2000The H&K P2000 9mm Subcompact makes a nice picture to add to my “wish I had one” gun pinups.

Compact, lightweight and handy. The new P2000 Subcompact combines all features expected for service use. The P2000 Subcompact is based on the P2000. Irrespective of the small and lightweight design, no compromise to accuracy and reliability have been made. Thanks to its two interchangeable backstrap inserts it may be adapted to hand sizes of the individual users.

I think this would be a very nice pillow gun or for CCW. Click on the link and then click on all the little thumbnails to see this fine firearm in several visual aspects. Real gun pr0n.

Gun-Free Zones Get People Killed

From Ted Nugent - the “Nuge” speaketh:

The NugeHere we go again. Someone tell me why, with nearly 3,000 articles written worldwide within 48 hours following the tragic slaughter at the Omaha, Neb. Westroads Mall last week, not a single article mentioned the most important fact of all — that there were “no guns allowed” in the mall?

What helped cause the tragedy is the liberal dream known as “gun-free zones.” Guns also weren’t allowed at Columbine High School, Virginia Tech University, Luby’s cafeteria in Killeen, Texas, and every other location where the wanton slaughter of unarmed, helpless victims is a virtual guarantee.

It is truly anti-American and downright bizarro that private property and business owners can deny (that is, “infringe” on) this “inalienable” right bestowed upon free men by our Creator.

Gun-Free Zone Liability Act

Red, White and Blue PistolThe time has come for this sort of legislation Nationwide. Thanx to Mr. Christian at BMEWS and Michael Bane.

GUN-FREE-ZONE LIABILITY ACT

Talking Points

“If you create a gun-free zone, you’re liable for any harm it causes.”

Originally introduced in Arizona as The Defenseless Victim Act of 2002, this bill recognizes that gun-free zones, recklessly made and typically with no alternative security provided, are known to be extremely dangerous.

We have seen this (when the bill was first introduced) in the Wakefield, Mass., slayings, the Luby’s Massacre, and even the hijacked airliners on Sept. 11, where pilots and passengers were defenseless, in the false name of security. Congress responded to that with the “Arm The Pilots” law. Continue Reading »

Pinkware

pink-taurus.gifI’m glad to see that “they” are trying to attract the fair sex to shooting. I have a feeling that these “softer” colors are not going to soften the stance of the anti-gun crowd, though.

Update: Thanks to Verna for setting me straight on how girls see pink stuff.

The Big “R”

big-rMy Remington 870 12-gauge shotgun features a bottom-loading, side ejecting receiver, a four round capacity tubular magazine under the barrel, dual action bars, internal hammer, and a bolt which locks into an extension in the barrel.

It also has this cool logo on the heel of the stock which, I’m sure, improves my accuracy.
